I hadn’t met any doctors who would listen or understand, I had felt ostracised from my present (able-bodied) community, we were neglected and forgotten. I wrote a song about it.
Lovely, Madelleine. My favourite lines are “September
The wind it blew away our footprints in the sand
Remember
We tried to carve them out in stone” because it evokes a frisson. The opening cello notes woke up my two cats, but then they started purring. That’s Arvo Pärt, Bach and YOU they react to like that.
Thank you for your music, your witness, your insight.
This is so beautiful, Madelleine. Your voice is perfect for capturing the mixture of nostalgia, grief, and hope the song expresses. I just love the main line "There are no more heroes, but we'll do just fine." Really resonates with the ME experience. Can't wait to hear the rest of your album as you release it!
Beautiful song 💜 another incredible one to add to my playlist, thank you.
For me, my heroes became those in our history who wrote books. Who went against the grain. Who travelled a different path and helped me get to the root of the cause. Showed me the path to whole healing.
Also those like yourself who are sharing their story. I so appreciate all of us who are here sharing our story. I do believe it is thus that will lead to the greatest change.
My daughter has CFS too so I have some small idea of what your struggle might be. She just moved far away with her fiancee and is living with their family for now. I miss bringing her tea and just being so near her, able to help. I shared your song with her and with a group of my friends. You are so talented. I wish you great success. <3

What an incredible and haunting song. Thank you for sharing something so beautiful Madeleine.
The heroes are those who shouldn’t have to fight to make their voices heard.
