Calling ourselves back [Meditation for chronic illness folks #5]
In this 15 minute meditation we call ourselves and our energy back from spaces where our energy no longer needs to be
Hi friend!
Ok, so last time I send out a meditation I told you it was the last one of the season. Buuut… I had one more in me, so here it is!
As a highly sensitive person I’ve always had issues with my energy being everywhere else than within me. To those of you who don’t work with energy, this really just means my focus and thoughts were all over the place. If I had a conversation on social media my thoughts would linger on that conversation for hours, even after it finished, and it took up a lot of my energy. I worked with an energy healer a while back and he tought me a simple exercise to call my energy back. It is an exercise I use almost daily and I have revised it a bit throughout the years.
So today we’re going to be calling our energy back from various spaces.
Please note: I you have untreated trauma, or a trauma that is still so fresh it triggers a destabilisation of your mental health just by the thought of it, then please don’t do this meditation. While we are not focusing on specific trauma I do mention ‘calling ourselves back from spaces of trauma’ and when in a meditative state, this could be triggering.
There are two versions, one with and one without music. Some people are sensitive to music while others need music.
Also, it is completely up to you whether you want to listen to the meditation with your eyes closed or not. There are no rules here. Listening with your eyes closed will give you a more intense experience, but sometimes intensity is not what’s best for our brains and bodies. I once went through a period where closing my eyes would start a technicolour disco inside my mind and so I began listening to meditations with my eyes open. I discovered that I got a lot from the meditation even with my eyes open.
Enjoy! And let me know how it went in the comments below.

How did it go?
How did you find this meditation?
Was it easy or hard to call yourself back?
How did you feel afterwards?

Thank once again, this was lovely and gentle, nurturing and life giving. I’m going to add this into my mindfulness practices. Just what I needed. I’m going to tell my friends in the tiredlings (support group for those with severe m.e) about this. I love your meditations they all enrich my soul and body.
Thank you - I needed this today. I’ve been in a nasty flare that’s become a spiral and calling myself back is something I’m not great at. Appreciate this (and you!)
