Stepping into belonging [Meditation for chronic illness folks #7]
In this 14 minute meditation we receive the support we truly need from our circle of community
Hi friend!
One of the first things to go when you’re chronically ill are relationships and the feeling like you belong to this world — at least that’s how it was for me. I’ve since learnt that ‘belonging’ can come in many shapes and sizes. I found I belonged in the chronic illness community. This is where I was met with the most empathetic and giving people. I don’t know what it is, but the people with the least physical energy have often had the most to give spiritually and emotionally.
So in this meditation you will step into the circle of belonging and here you get to ask for whatever you need right now.
There are two versions, one with and one without music. Some people are sensitive to music while others need music.
Also, it is completely up to you whether you want to listen to the meditation with your eyes closed or not. There are no rules here. Listening with your eyes closed will give you a more intense experience, but sometimes intensity is not what’s best for our brains and bodies. I once went through a period where closing my eyes would start a technicolour disco inside my mind and so I began listening to meditations with my eyes open. I discovered that I got a lot from the meditation even with my eyes open.

Enjoy! And let me know how it went in the comments below.

How did it go?
How did you find this meditation?
What did your most need today?
How did you feel afterwards?

Thank you so much for listening to this meditation. If you know someone who could benefit from this, then please share this page with them. You are also more than welcome to share it in your Facebook or other patient support groups.
I enjoyed this - it was a medicine I hadn’t realized I needed. My inclination after receiving from the circle was to stand with the circle and let someone else have a turn! That felt really nice as I realized I, too, have the energy to support others. Thank you!
Ahhh beautiful, thank you so much. What a gorgeous meditation I would love to practice more regularly - particularly the energy of us all together and our energy collectively (no matter how low) rising. I believe there is a lot of power in this and that this is possible for us all to unite and connect to one another, in a way that will bring about great change in the future.
The need that came up for me today is one that repeats regularly now; connection. Friendship, community and connection were so clear today. It used to most frequently be rest and there has been a real shift this year.
Thank you so much. I know community is a big one for you and I can see your community here flourishing this year, you’re doing a great job fostering and holding the space for it 🙏
